In a distance of 500-600 m, you can reach the Hamburg park paths network. From there, you can follow the course of the Wandse (hence the name Wandsbek...) downstream in the Eichtalpark all the way to the Außenalster. By bike you can thus reach the city center in about 30 minutes – without having to participate in general traffic. If you have such a commute, it is a dream start to the day! Upstream, you can walk all the way to Rahlstedt into the Tunneltal, or follow the river fork of the Berner Au almost to Volksdorf. In the summer, the bike-accessible Strandbad Ostende is ideal for having fun.
