The Location and Its Possibilities

Borstel is a village on the water with 130 inhabitants in the heart of Schleswig-Holstein, between the seas. Hamburg Central Station and Kiel can be reached very quickly by train without transfers (Brokstedt station is about 2 km away). By car, you can reach Hamburg Central Station in about 45 minutes and Kiel in 30 minutes. From here, you can take either the A7 or the A23 when driving to Hamburg. Hamburg Airport is also reachable in 40 minutes. The Baltic and North Seas are approximately 45–60 minutes away. Borstel borders the Aukrug Nature Park, which offers many riding trails for long rides. Since in this part of Schleswig-Holstein “there’s a horse behind every house,” the riding network is particularly well-developed. There are also many beautiful circular routes for cycling, jogging, or walking (see map). Outdoor swimming pools are located in the neighboring villages of Quarnstedt and Brokstedt.
