KNX is the global and future-proof standard for home and building automation. It is a bus system that enables various systems—such as lighting, heating, shutters, ventilation, or security systems—to be networked and controlled centrally.
The comprehensive integration and networking of these systems results in a significant gain in comfort and security through individual automation routines that can be adapted as needed. This technology also supports barrier-free access when required, for instance, via voice control/emergency call, voice output, or visualization of different house states (such as an open window).
In the house, connected presence and motion detectors as well as smoke detectors are installed on the ceilings in all rooms. On the upper floor, MDT glass buttons with displays are additionally provided in each room. On the ground floor, there is a light switch as well as an operating panel. Visualization is managed via the operating panel and a smartphone app using JUNG SmartVisu. Outdoors, there are motion detectors and a weather station (for rain, wind, and sun position). The status (open, closed, locked) of almost all windows and doors can be queried.
All SmartHome functions are implemented using cable connections (KNX-TP); that is, wireless connections have been deliberately avoided, although expansion with KNX-RF is possible at any time. The ceiling lights are dimmable and every socket is switchable.
