The approximately 185-meter-high Lohrberg is considered the local mountain of Frankfurt am Main and is part of the Seckbach district. It is a component of the geological formation known as the Berger Rücken. Lohrberg and Lohrpark are part of the current Frankfurt greenbelt planning and serve as an important cold and fresh air formation area for the city. The park is therefore a valuable building block of an ecological overall concept aimed at protecting nature.

Lohrberg can be reached from various walking paths originating in the center of Seckbach. By car, access is available via Friedberger Landstraße in the direction of Bad Vilbel and the Berger Weg. Parking is available on Lohrberg.

Lohrberg features, among other attractions, the Lohrberg-Schänke—a popular excursion restaurant in Frankfurt since the 1930s—and a children’s recreation garden that was created at the end of the 1920s, complete with a playground and a rectangular water play basin.

From Lohrberg, one can enjoy an attractive panoramic view of Seckbach, across the expanse of the Main plain to the mountains of the Spessart, the ridges of the Odenwald, and, naturally, even see the Frankfurt skyline. Particularly in autumn, the elevated location is ideal for flying kites. In winter, when there is snow, Lohrpark boasts Frankfurt’s longest toboggan run.

This environmentally educational and non-profit heirloom fruit center aims to preserve, shape, and make the diverse habitat of the “heirloom orchard meadow” accessible, as well as promote apple cultivation as an element of regional identity. It practices organic fruit growing, offers advice on fruit and garden care, operates and supports conservation projects, conducts courses on nature and environmental topics, and hosts events centered on the subject of heirloom fruit. Additionally, its bistro and farm shop offer regionally typical dishes, beverages, and seasonal fruit.
