"Well-maintained multi-family house with 8 apartments in a sought-after residential area of Mainz-Marienborn on a very quiet residential street. Younger tenant clientele.
The heating/warm water is provided via electric radiators and instant water heaters, i.e., it is powered by electricity. Here you enter into a contract directly with a utility provider. Therefore, the costs are not included in the service charges!
Here and in nearby Bretzenheim you will find everything you need for daily life. In Marienborn there is an elementary school, kindergartens, sports facilities and, of course, doctors, a post office, and other important services. In the neighboring Gutenbergcenter you will find additional doctors, a pharmacy, and naturally shopping opportunities.
As a gateway to the Rheinhessen countryside, the district offers a very high quality of life. In addition, the community is directly connected to the excellent transportation system of the Rhine-Main area via a nearby motorway junction. The proximity to the university as well as to major employers (ZDF, Novo Nordisk, VRM, etc.) makes the apartment in the multi-family house interesting not only for students.
With around 4,500 inhabitants, Marienborn is one of the smallest districts of Mainz. Early recorded names for Marienborn are Brunnon, Burne, and Born (in Middle High German “source”). In the mid-17th century, the name Mariäborn was mentioned for the first time, later being called Marienborn in 1685.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, Marienborn was part of the fortification wall around Mainz. Owing to its location at the foot of the Rheinhessen plateau, the place was excellently suited as a military headquarters; as in 1793 during the siege and recapture of Mainz occupied by France by a Prussian army. Duke Karl August of Weimar, whose troops were also stationed in Marienborn at that time, had brought his minister of state, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, who observed the battles around the city from May 27 until June 26.
Marienborn has preserved its village character. The medieval layout with the typical Central German farmsteads around the church is a good example of that. The lively club scene, along with the activities of the churches and community organizations as well as local festivals, demonstrates a close-knit community. The ‘Marienborner Kerb’ or the Christmas market are integral parts of life in this small yet charming district.
The apartment includes a parking space in front of the house.
