Hiddesen is a suburb of Detmold located 3 km away, where all the essential daily necessities are available (groceries, pharmacy, bakeries, doctors, opticians, flower shop, etc.).

The glass wall in the living room and the window in the children's room were replaced in 2018 with new triple-glazed windows. Three additional windows in the bedroom have been fitted with significantly better-insulated glass. Furthermore, an opening has been created from the living room to the kitchen.
