The building, a former INTERMAR Hotel, is located right by the picturesque Dieksee in what is known as the Hosteinische Switzerland. The Dieksee is famous for its five-lake cruise.

There are plenty of opportunities for hiking and sports such as swimming, tennis, and canoeing on the Schwentine and the lakes right outside your door. Several Kneipp baths can be found directly by the lake in the forest and in the shady spa park, which was designed in the 1960s by a renowned architect. Bathing piers are available in front of the house, and a forest swimming pool is open from May until the end of September.

The wildlife park with free-roaming animals is an attraction for both young and old. The Baltic Sea is reachable by car in 20 minutes. The Malente train station is only a few steps away, providing quick connections to Kiel/Flensburg, Lübeck/Hamburg/airport. In just 5 minutes by train you can reach Eutin—with its castle park, castle, library, exhibitions, a large market twice a week, excellent restaurants and cafés, the Eutin Festival, cinema, and more.

In Bad Malente, there are many shops, supermarkets, doctors, two banks, pharmacies, and in the summer many delightful events for both guests and residents (concerts, trips to the island in the Dieksee for a swim, cultural lectures and guided tours, a Christmas market in the spa park, etc.).
