Here awaits something special ....
History Meets Modernity:
The building ensemble dates back to 1793 and was considered a gem of Bavarian Baroque. The construction year of this monument is carved into the well-preserved entrance door. The north side extension was completed around 1976. The former castle inn, along with its two associated residential and utility buildings, is located directly across from Schloss Weyhern.
In 2006, the 400-year history of the castle inn came to an end. The building was on the verge of falling into disrepair.
In 2012, a private buyer emerged who had the property rezoned into a residential building and, with the utmost personal and technical effort as well as corresponding creativity, transformed it—while adhering to strict monument protection regulations—into a dreamlike residential estate.
The Building:
This is a solid masonry construction with a timber-framed roof structure and a fish-tail roof covering. The partially basement building stands on an entirely insulated surrounding plinth and features two full floors as well as a two-story roof structure.
Features / Usage:
The estate comprises three masonry buildings along with several timber constructions.
The main building alone measures approximately 23 m x 13.5 m. The historically restored entrance door has been preserved, though it is no longer used as an entrance. Beyond it, a long hallway opens up access to the rooms and bathrooms. The historical doors have been tastefully restored, as has the inner wooden staircase leading to the upper floor. The former pub room has been converted into a living area featuring a masonry stove; the bar, kitchen, and storage rooms have been transformed into a dining area, utility room, and an open modern fitted kitchen with an island and all electrical appliances. The former guest toilets have been converted into spacious, attractive bathrooms. The covered main entrance is now located on the east side, complete with a foyer and cloakroom.
The upper floor was designed as a completely independent residential unit, accessible both via the internal staircase and from the outside via a wooden staircase with a separate entrance. Here too, you will find high-quality, tasteful design and fittings. The “huge” living area with an open kitchen, along with 5-6 rooms, a utility room, and 2 bathrooms, provides ample space for a large family.
The impressive roof structure is not developed but offers plenty of usable space. It was completely restored and re-roofed as part of the renovation.
The former west-side beer garden has been converted into a wonderful, multi-area stone terrace. The former skittle alley has been largely preserved and now serves as a very cozy garden house and storage area for equipment.
The large ancillary building, the coach house, offers generously usable storage and utility spaces, garages, a workshop, and the former horse stable—with a continuous loft in the gable. An ideal setup for, for example, craft businesses in need of large indoor storage areas and/or for (large) animal husbandry.
A second small outbuilding, the former inn-owner’s residence, has been lovingly renovated and designed. It is usable as its own small residential unit, featuring a living room, an internal wooden staircase leading into the divided gable for bedrooms and children’s rooms, a small bathroom, and a kitchen.
All of this is set within an approximately 7,000 m² “park.” This allows for animal/horse husbandry on your very own paddock, as well as ample parking spaces. The main building is fenced (“escape-proof”—ideal, for example, for keeping dogs), while the other areas are enclosed with pasture fences.
Due to the owners’ shifting priorities, the estate is being sold completely and, by arrangement, move-in ready to a new admirer. It can be optionally (partially) furnished on request, including the kitchens.
