Visitors as well as residents can enjoy, in addition to excellent shopping opportunities, an extensive range of cultural and leisure activities. The Fledermaus Experience Exhibition, the Museum Alt-Segeberger Bürgerhaus, the Kalkberg caves, and St. Mary's Church are just a few examples. Various festivals and activities take place throughout the year, such as the Segeberg Cultural Summer or the summer concerts on the open-air stage.
The well-known Möbel-Kraft AG has its headquarters here, as do the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the Medical Association of Schleswig-Holstein. The town also has various schools—including an adult education center.
