The municipal community of Beuren includes the district of Prosterath, which was incorporated on March 17, 1974. Since December 1, 1969, the municipality has carried the additional name “Hochwald”.
Nearly 1,000 people live here. In the village center (the intersection of Hauptstraße, Dhrontalstraße, and Hofstraße) is the community center. Opposite it is a guesthouse, and not far away is the St. Paulinus village church. At the village entrance (from the west) are a doctor’s office and two carpentry shops. Additionally, right in the middle of the village is a recreational area with a playground. In the north, near a fishing pond and a wading pool, is the Fisher’s Hut (an excursion venue offering drinks and meals). Between Beuren and Prosterath lies a sports field with facilities for sports and leisure.
In the village, you will find general practitioners, a daycare center with all-day care, and an elementary school with after-school supervision. There is also an SB branch of Sparkasse Trier and two restaurants.
The BAB 1 highway can be reached in approximately 12 km (Mehring on-ramp) and about 8 km (Reinsfeld on-ramp). Trier is approximately 30 km away, and all shopping opportunities, secondary schools, etc., are located in the neighboring towns of Thalfang and Hermeskeil, each about 10 km away.
