Jagel is one of the eight member municipalities of the Amt Haddeby and is very conveniently located south of the district town of Schleswig, along the B77 towards Rendsburg. It is approximately 40 km to the Danish border, 30 to 40 km from both the North and Baltic Seas, and about 120 km from Hamburg.

The Schlei region, a popular recreational and holiday destination, can be reached within a few minutes by car. The nearby Selker Noor offers a large bathing lake, and in Schleswig you will find the Marienbad with a restaurant as well as the Luisenbad with a swimming facility.

Jagel also boasts beautiful hiking trails and a large water-ski and wakeboard park is within walking distance.

Additionally, Jagel is home to an excellent Italian restaurant.
