For some apartments, we can even offer a parking space in the courtyard.
Görlitz – for many, the most beautiful city in Germany – is now home to around 57,000 residents. Located directly on the 15th meridian, Görlitz is indeed Germany’s easternmost city, yet with the expansion of the European Union, it has become, politically, right in the heart of Europe. The designation of a “European City,” proclaimed jointly with Zgorzelec – the district immediately east of the Neisse – underlines the strong cross-border cooperation. Situated at the tripoint of three countries, its proximity to neighboring Poland and the Czech Republic is particularly noteworthy. Moreover, the Saxon state capital, Dresden, is just a stone’s throw away via the A4 motorway.
After the city center, the Südstadt is Görlitz’s second largest district, home to roughly 10,000 residents. The Südstadt is bordered to the north and east by railway tracks and the Görlitz train station, to the south by vineyards, and to the west by the adjoining districts of Biesnitz & Rauschwalde. Well-preserved and lovingly restored Gründerzeit houses shape the character of this district. The houses along the spacious streets, some with front gardens, hint at the sophisticated flair of the Gründerzeit era. Rows of trees lend many streets an especially pleasant, green appearance, while parks and squares create small green oases that complete the overall impression. The infrastructure has been adapted to modern needs. Südstadt is home to kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, as well as school dormitories. Supermarkets for everyday needs, doctors, and pharmacies are within walking distance. Completing the picture are the animal park, the Neisse bath, and various restaurants and hotels. Naturally, Südstadt is well connected to public transportation; trams and bus lines provide quick links to the rest of the city.
