This wooden platform encloses a metal spindle – a so-called “Tuchersches Druckwerk” – with which wine grapes were once pressed.

Stillfried is located in the Gänserndorf district in the large municipality of Angern/March on the federal road B49, the so-called “Bernsteinstraße.” It is easily accessible from Vienna (city border approximately 30 km away) via the B8 Wagramer Straße/Angerner Straße, and about 12 km from the district capital, Gänserndorf. The village is also served by a train station, as the Nordbahn passes by. In the neighboring town of Angern, a ferry enables a crossing of the border river March, offering a wonderful opportunity for excursions to Slovakia.

The Marchauen that frame the river provide the residents of Stillfried not only with a popular recreational area but also give passionate anglers the chance to pursue their hobby.
