The former parsonage was built as a representative, large timber-framed house (oak half-timbering) on a sandstone plinth. Approximately 240 m² of living space are spread over two floors and an expanded attic. Additional usable spaces include a spacious attic, cellar rooms, and a romantically overgrown “witch house” (garden house – equipped with electricity, water, sewage, a fireplace, and an attic).

Two sides of the house feature visible half-timbering, while the other two sides are additionally protected by a wooden shingle facade. Behind the shingle facade, an ecological insulation was installed. Original wooden folding shutters are present on two sides of the house for all windows. Historic doors with charming details, wooden paneling, a wooden staircase with turned balustrade spindles from the ground floor up to the attic, high ceilings, and a generous room layout on the ground floor and first floor all contribute to the character of the property. Massive, partially exposed oak beams, thick walls, a well-tempered vaulted cellar, and many wonderful wood and sandstone elements reflect solid, time-honored craftsmanship.

The ground floor and first floor each offer about 90 m² of living space with many possibilities. The ground floor layout comprises a large kitchen with a dining counter, a study with a library, a living/dining room, a guest room with a shower, and a guest WC in the hall. On the first floor, there is a spacious bedroom with a dressing room and a generous bathroom, a large living room, and another bedroom. The attic contains two smaller bedrooms, a large room with a small kitchenette, and a bathroom.

Several built-in closets and a multitude of small storage rooms provide plenty of space for all your belongings. In addition, there is a spacious attic that can be used for storage.

A romantic, fenced garden with beautiful, unique trees, blooming shrubs and flowers, many special plants on different levels, a solid greened garden house (witch house), sandstone steps, and sandstone paths invite you to find your own favorite spot. In the upper garden area there is an old lilac arbor; a sandstone staircase leads to an antique sandstone table, a small pond, and many other special features. The lower garden with its carport is bounded by an ornate iron courtyard gate with an additional pedestrian gate towards the street. An old, massive sandstone wall surrounds the property on the street side. Currently, the overgrown garden house is used to store garden tools; in the past, it served as a baking and laundry house and was even used as a party house. It has its own attic, water and sewage connections, and a fireplace.

The central heating system (wood pellets and solar) provides pleasant warmth and hot water throughout the house, while an additional central wood stove (a large tiled stove on the ground floor plus two smaller tiled stoves on the first floor) offers extra cozy warmth during the cold season or on cooler summer days. Overall, the house has a very pleasant and healthy indoor climate.

This historic parsonage is registered as a cultural monument. If owner-occupied, funding can be applied for both the purchase and various renovation measures. Additionally, tax advantages under the monument depreciation allowances in income tax can be claimed – all in coordination with the appropriate public authorities. The house and property are located on a quiet residential street – centrally positioned, yet peaceful on the edge of the village. Woodlands, forests, meadows, and fields begin immediately after the next house. The location of the house is excellent.

The supermarket is reachable on foot in 2 minutes, the kindergarten in 4 minutes, the primary school in 8 minutes, and the bus stop is also only 2 minutes away. Secondary schools, such as Realschulen and Gymnasiums, are very well accessible by public bus. The nearest Gymnasium is the Grimmelshausen Gymnasium in Gelnhausen (approx. 16 km away), and the nearest Realschule is also located in Gelnhausen.

This special house has been in our family for over 60 years. We have shared many happy and beautiful moments here – an unforgettable time. Stories from the past also speak of a happy life and a very lovely childhood in this remarkable house.

It has been comprehensively renovated, and throughout the years, measures have been taken for its preservation and care. In all these efforts, special care was taken to maintain and protect the original components and to use healthy building materials. The central heating was switched to a pellet system with solar panels, the wooden shingle facade was completely renewed (with ecological insulation installed underneath), the wood stove was replaced, the carport and the canopy at the main entrance were given a new roof covering, and much more.
