Today, the Sony Center – soon to be known as the Center at Potsdamer Platz – is considered one of the most secure property complexes in Berlin. There are 134 spacious apartments located here. A security service monitors the property 24/7. In the huge lobby, a concierge waits for residents day and night. Strangers only gain access if they have been registered in advance. Even the mail carrier does not enter the building; he hands the mail over to the concierge, who then places it in the respective mailboxes or, in their absence, informs the tenant or owner.
