Here awaits something special ….
History meets Modernity:
The building ensemble dates back to 1793 and was regarded as a jewel of Bavarian Baroque. The construction year of this monument is carved into the well-preserved entrance door. The north-facing extension was executed around 1976. The former castle inn, along with its two associated residential and outbuilding structures, is located directly opposite Schloss Weyhern.
In 2006, the 400-year history of the castle inn came to an end. The building was threatened with decay.
In 2012, a private buyer was found who had the property rezoned into a residential building and, with the utmost personal and technical effort, as well as corresponding creativity and in strict compliance with heritage protection requirements, transformed it into a dreamlike residential estate.
The Building:
This is a solid masonry structure with a timber-framed roof structure and a “beaver tail” roof covering. The partially basemented building stands on a completely insulated surrounding plinth and has two full floors along with a duplex attic structure.
Features / Use:
The estate includes three masonry buildings as well as several wooden outbuildings.
The main building alone measures approximately 23 m x 13.5 m. The historically restored entrance door has been preserved, but is no longer used as the entrance. Behind it, a long corridor opens up with access to the rooms and bathrooms. The historic doors have been tastefully restored, as has the interior wooden staircase to the upper floor. The former guest lounge was converted into a living area with a masonry stove, while the taproom, kitchen, and storage rooms were transformed into a dining area, utility room, and an open, modern fitted kitchen with an island and all electrical appliances. The former guest toilets have been converted into spacious, attractive bathrooms. The covered main entrance is now located on the east side with a hall and cloakroom.
The upper floor was designed as a completely independent residential unit, accessible both via the interior staircase and from the outside via a wooden staircase with a separate entrance. Here too, one finds high-quality, tasteful design and amenities. The “huge” living area with an open kitchen, as well as 5–6 rooms, a utility room, and 2 bathrooms, provide space for a large family.
The vast attic is not finished, but offers plenty of usable space. It was completely restored and newly roofed as part of the renovation.
The former west-side beer garden was converted into a wonderful multi-area stone terrace. The former skittles alley was largely preserved and now serves as a very cozy garden house and equipment storage.
The large ancillary building, the remise, offers generously sized, versatile usable and storage spaces, garages, a workshop, and the former horse stable, with a continuous attic space in the gable. An ideal setup for, for example, craft businesses needing large indoor storage spaces and/or for (large) animal husbandry.
A second small outbuilding, the former inn manager’s house, has been lovingly developed and designed and can be used as its own small residential unit, with a living room, an internal wooden staircase leading into the divided gable for the bedrooms and children’s rooms, a small bathroom, and a kitchen.
All of this is surrounded by an approximately 7,000 m² “park”. This enables animal/horse husbandry on a private paddock, as well as many car parking spaces.
The main building is fenced in (“escape-proof” – perfect, for example, for keeping dogs); the other areas are enclosed/fenced with pasture fencing.
Due to the owner’s new direction, the estate is being sold completely and move-in ready after consultation to a new admirer. Optionally, it can be furnished (partially) on request. Kitchens included.
Weyhern / Egenhofen – a green idyll approximately 30 km before the western gates of Munich
This jewel of Bavarian history and today uniquely renovated and modernized estate is located on the western fringe of Munich and can be reached in only about 30 minutes by car via the A8 – Odelzhausen exit.
Directly opposite the completely renovated and restored Schloss Weyhern is this estate, the former historical castle inn from 1793. Idyllically situated along the course of the Glonn, the traditional inn with beer garden was a popular excursion destination with a gastronomic experience, known far beyond the county borders, until about 15 years ago.
By car, it is only about 7 minutes to the A8 motorway in Odelzhausen, where most daily facilities can be found, as well as in the surrounding municipalities of Egenhofen, Mammendorf, Maisach, or in Fürstenfeldbruck.
It is also easily accessible “publicly” by bus 871 (directly in front of the door) to the S-Bahn in Maisach.
The recreational offerings leave little to be desired! In addition to the surrounding meadows and forests with endless cycling, riding, and hiking possibilities, two golf courses and numerous sports clubs with modern sports facilities invite all kinds of leisure activities. The leisure offerings are rounded off by many attractive local venues of different orientations, “cozy” beer gardens, and the numerous cultural events in the municipalities and the cultural center around the Fürstenfeldbruck castle.
It is easy to see that this estate, in its location, style, and features, is unique and awaits a new owner who will appreciate this level of quality.
It is equally suitable as a family home, a multi-generational property, or a work-life domicile.
The quality of the renovation and the building materials used, the high-quality furnishings and equipment correspond, due to the complete renovation and modernization, to a high standard of construction and the high self-demand of the current owners.
