Location Description

The apartment is located in Altenau, a district of the Lower Saxony town Clausthal-Zellerfeld, which belongs to the district of Goslar. The city, situated northwest of the Harz Mountains, has around 16,000 inhabitants. The city comprises a total of 17 districts, including Schulenburg in the Upper Harz, Wildeman, or Altenau-Schulenberg in the Upper Harz.

Altenau has a lot to offer, including the wooden church St. Nikolai from 1669, the former town hall from 1673, an herb garden, the Polsterberg Hubhaus, and the exhibition of the history of the Upper Harz in the local heritage rooms.
