Description

The approximately 64 m² building was erected in 1930 based on an officially granted building permit by the regionally significant architect and district master builder Ernst Richard Koch (1884–1967). As his own client, he created a personal retreat in his hometown of Hollstein—a refuge that remained in his possession until his death in 1967. Since then, the Silver Dome has continuously been owned by the same family.

The cottage is situated on an approximately 14,000 m² wooded parcel in a peaceful, secluded location. The forest is predominantly composed of beech trees, complemented by a few solitary young rowan trees—a species that is rare in our forests, both ecologically sustainable and economically valuable. The spacious veranda opens up to a view of the forest and invites you to enjoy the tranquility and authenticity of this special place.

The deep connection people have always felt with this location is evidenced by a handwritten song from 1962 titled “The Silver Dome – My Paradise.” The lyrics read:
