The typical block-house character creates a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Our holiday homes, newly built in 2018 from solid log planks, are styled in an Alpine chalet manner and feature a log-plank sauna and a stove, both visually and technically up-to-date. Each house is approximately 75 m² in size and accommodates up to 5 people. The large panoramic windows are oriented toward the adventure mountain (Bocksberg).

Our 6 block houses are 6 individual homes, constructed from solid log planks. All the houses are built on stilts, reminiscent of traditional block houses in Austria and Switzerland – a feature unique in the entire Harz region. With the exception of the color scheme, the interiors are nearly identical. These block houses are furnished in a trendy mix of modern and cozy styles.

A comfortable living area with a stove, along with an open kitchen featuring a spacious dining area for 5 people, ensures high comfort and moments of relaxation.

Our block-plank houses are located directly on one of the Harz’ most beautiful hiking trails, right by the forest at the end of the village in a cul-de-sac. They enjoy a very quiet location while still being centrally situated. The centerpiece of Hahnenklee is Rathausstraße with its cable car, the adventure mountain "Bocksberg", and the numerous restaurants, shops, and supermarket. The town center is only about 400 meters from our houses – nearby but not noisy.

Hahnenklee is THE holiday destination in the Harz!

It is an ideal vacation spot for young and old alike, offering many attractions and hiking opportunities. With an altitude of about 600 to 750 meters above sea level, the town is one of the snow-sure locations in the Harz. Thanks to significant investments in recent years – this year and in the coming years – Hahnenklee has become one of the biggest tourist magnets in the region. Just this year, another summer (and all-year-round) toboggan run was opened, drawing even more visitors to Hahnenklee. The numbers speak for themselves: in 2022, Hahnenklee recorded approximately 450,000 overnight stays, and in 2023 around 480,000.

Since 2012, we have been operators of block houses/block huts or chalets in the Harz and naturally have a base of regular guests. Already booked periods can, of course, also be transferred.

After years of experience with both large and smaller block houses and chalets in the Harz, we have found that smaller block houses yield significantly higher returns than larger ones and are much easier to rent out than larger holiday homes located further from the town center. The focal point in Hahnenklee is Rathausstraße with its cable car, the adventure mountain "Bocksberg", and the numerous restaurants, shops, and supermarket.
