The fairytale district is located in the Berlin district of Köpenick in the southeastern part of Berlin. The old town of Köpenick, Wuhlheide, Karlshorst, Mahlsdorf, and Friedrichshagen are all nearby.
Shopping centers, several day care centers and children’s stores, schools, and doctors are in the immediate vicinity.
Directly at the Köpenick S-Bahn station (about 1.5 km away) is the Forum Köpenick shopping center (with 140 stores); opposite, at Elknerplatz, is a building housing Saturn, Aldi, etc. About 200–300 m south on Bahnhofstraße, both sides are lined with shops.
Since 1907 a 12 km-long tram has been running from Köpenick S-Bahn station to Mahlsdorf S-Bahn station. The tram stop is only about 100 m away, yet due to the building and the surrounding forest, the house enjoys excellent sound insulation.
Public transport connections are very good.
The new regional train station at Köpenick S-Bahn station is expected to begin operations in about a year, making it possible to reach Alexanderplatz in approximately 15 minutes.
The daytime frequencies from the tram stop “Unter den Birken” (every 10 minutes) are: Mahlsdorf-Süd (1 minute), S-Köpenick (4 minutes), Köpenick Town Hall (11 minutes), S-Friedrichshagen (11 minutes), and S-Mahlsdorf (16 minutes).
From S-Köpenick, the journey to Ostkreuz takes 14 minutes and about 35 minutes to the Zoological Garden.

In the former air spa Berlin-Friedrichshagen there is a cinema, a lakeside beach on Berlin’s largest lake – the Müggelsee – and the Waterworks Museum.
In the old town of Köpenick you can visit Köpenick Palace with its museum, a library, and the citizens’ office/town hall.
These districts also feature a variety of German and international cuisines, including Japanese, French, Italian, Mexican, Greek, Argentine, Turkish, Bulgarian, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Creole restaurants.
