The former park hospital was planned by Hugo Licht and built by Otto Wilhelm Scharenberg at the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century. Subsequently, the sanatorium was taken over by the Royal Saxon State in 1913 and was henceforth named “Royal State Sanatorium and Care Facility Leipzig-Dösen”. During the administrative reorganization in the GDR, the clinic returned to the ownership of the City of Leipzig in 1952. In 1999, the park hospital was taken over by the Rhön Clinic and in 2002 was relocated to a new building in the Leipzig-Probstheida district. Since then, the existing buildings and the site have no longer been used as a hospital area.
