Furnished Student Apartments and Single Rooms for the Winter and Summer Semester 2026/2027

We offer furnished student apartments and single rooms at the Campus-Baden Student Residence for the upcoming winter and summer semester 2026/2027. Our rooms and apartments are especially suitable for students looking for a furnished, well-organised, and study-friendly place to live.

You may apply even before receiving your final university admission. Rooms are allocated according to social criteria and the date of application. Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee the allocation of a room or apartment.

Only one application may be submitted per person. Our shared living groups are generally not separated by gender, religion, or nationality. Couples must each submit a separate application, and both partners must be enrolled at a university.

Persons who cannot provide proof of current or intended university enrolment are not eligible for housing, in particular apprentices and vocational school students. Students who are also employed as research assistants, legal trainees, or volunteers may also be excluded if the requirements for student housing are not fulfilled.

If no room is available on your preferred move-in date, your application will be placed on our waiting list. Depending on availability, the waiting time for single rooms may be approximately 6 to 12 weeks. As only a limited number of apartments is available, the waiting time for apartments may be around 12 weeks or longer. As soon as we are able to offer you a room or apartment, we will contact you by e-mail.

After submitting the application, you will receive an unencrypted e-mail to check your data. If you wish to make changes after submitting the application, please inform us by e-mail.

Your application is generally valid for 4 months, and from the end of June 2026 probably for 3 months. During this period, you will receive an e-mail at regular intervals containing a confirmation and a read-link. You must confirm this link if you are still interested in a place at the Campus-Baden Student Residence. If you remain interested after the validity period has expired, a new application must be submitted.

For processing your application, we require the following documents. These can be uploaded as PDF files via the electronic application form. Please note that only PDF files are accepted.

• Proof or copy of university admission

• Copy of ID card or passport, front and back side where applicable

• Copy of visa, if already available, or complete copy of the visa application

• Proof of income, for example, blocked account, monthly parental support, BAföG or comparable financial proof

• Short curriculum vitae in tabular form

Location Description Campus Baden Student Residence

The Campus Baden Student Residence is located in a very convenient area of Weingarten (Baden), at Am Eisweiher 2. It is especially suitable for students who are looking for fast connections to Karlsruhe, KIT, and the surrounding university and research locations. The residence combines quiet student living outside Karlsruhe city centre with short distances to university, research facilities, shopping, and public transport.

A major advantage is the close proximity to both KIT locations. KIT Campus South can be reached by train in approximately 22 minutes. By car, the journey takes around 12 minutes, and by bicycle about 30 minutes. This makes Campus South easy to reach for lectures, seminars, library visits, and university events.

KIT Campus North is also very well connected. By bus, the journey takes approximately 12 minutes. By car, Campus North can be reached in around 7 to 12 minutes, depending on traffic. By bicycle, the journey takes about 20 minutes. This location is therefore particularly convenient for students connected to scientific, technical, or research-oriented institutions.

Public transport connections are available via Weingarten (Baden) station as well as local bus and light rail services towards Karlsruhe, KIT Campus South, KIT Campus North, and the surrounding communities. There are also practical everyday cycling routes towards Karlsruhe, Campus South, and Campus North. For students who want to commute flexibly between university, residence, and leisure activities, the location is very well suited.

Daily shopping is especially convenient. A Lidl supermarket is located directly nearby, making everyday grocery shopping quick and easy. Further local amenities such as bakeries, pharmacies, restaurants, doctors, and services can be found in Weingarten and the nearby Karlsruhe area.

With furnished student housing, short travel times to KIT Campus South and KIT Campus North, good train, bus, bicycle and car connections, and shopping facilities directly nearby, the Campus Baden Student Residence offers a very practical location for students who want to study in a focused environment, commute flexibly, and live with good local amenities close at hand.

Facilities and Furnishings

We offer clean, functional, and furnished flats, tiny apartments, and single rooms in different sizes and price categories. The facilities depend on the respective type of accommodation and the booked room category.

Our flats include a full bathroom, a live-in kitchen, and at least two living rooms. They are particularly suitable for students who need more space or who would like to live together.

Our tiny apartments are equipped, depending on the category, with a small kitchen, a washbasin, and a cabin shower. Toilets, guest toilets, and additional shared bathrooms are located in the designated communal areas.

Our single rooms are fully furnished and offer practical student accommodation. The use of shared kitchens, shared bathrooms, and shared toilets is regulated by the rental agreement.

The Campus-Baden Student Residence has binding house rules which form part of the rental agreement and ensure an orderly, safe, and respectful living environment for all residents. The main principles are mutual consideration, politeness, cleanliness, non-violence, tolerance, and careful use of the building, furnishings, and shared facilities.

Accommodation is provided, depending on the housing category, in single rooms, double rooms, apartments, or flats. A change of room is only permitted with prior approval by the residence administration. Residents receive the necessary keys upon moving in. All keys must be returned when moving out. Keys may not be passed on to third parties or copied without permission. The tenant is liable for lost keys and related costs.

Quiet hours apply daily from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. During this time, music, television, telephone calls, online meetings, and other noise must be kept at room volume. Visitors are generally welcome but must be registered and may only stay in accordance with the house rules. Overnight stays require prior approval by the residence administration.

Smoking is only permitted outdoors in designated smoking areas. Alcohol abuse, drug use, possession of weapons, violence, threats, discriminatory conduct, and any behaviour that endangers others are strictly prohibited. Such violations may lead to warnings, claims for damages, or termination of the rental agreement without notice.

Fire safety and security rules must be strictly observed. Open flames, candles, barbecue equipment, cooking devices, and cooking in rooms are prohibited. Escape routes, staircases, corridors, and fire doors must be kept clear at all times. Fire safety equipment must not be manipulated. In case of danger, the marked emergency exits must be used.

Shared kitchens, bathrooms, toilets, corridors, staircases, and other communal areas must be used in a clean, orderly, and considerate manner. After use, cooking areas, microwaves, refrigerators, dishes, and work surfaces must be cleaned immediately. Food must be stored hygienically, and spoiled food must be disposed of without delay. Waste must be separated properly and placed in the designated bins.

Rooms must be kept clean, tidy, and in proper condition. Furnishings may not be removed, altered, or damaged. Nails, screws, or adhesive strips on walls and furniture are not permitted. Damage, soiling, or safety defects must be reported immediately. Pets are not permitted.

When moving out, rooms, apartments, or flats must be handed over fully cleared, clean, and in proper condition. Keys, checklists, and all items provided must be returned no later than the move-out date. Items left behind will only be stored for a limited period and may be forwarded at the tenant’s expense.

Violations of the house rules may, depending on the seriousness of the case, result in warnings, compensation claims, additional charges, or extraordinary termination of the rental agreement.
