The costs of any potential Eternit roof renovation can be reduced through tax breaks and state subsidies (currently 10% with appropriate insulation).

The Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA) subsidizes window replacement to improve energy efficiency. The subsidy is usually 15%, but through an individual modernization plan (iSFP) it can be increased by another 5% up to a total of 20%. Furthermore, the KfW (Reconstruction Loan Corporation/state development bank) offers low-interest loans with repayment grants for larger renovations.

In Baden-Württemberg, there are subsidies for new heating systems through the nationwide Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (BEG) and additional state programs, which can amount to up to 70% of the eligible costs, corresponding to a maximum of 21,000 euros for a single-family home.
What almost no one knows: KfW recently introduced an entirely new subsidy that every homeowner can additionally take advantage of. It’s a supplementary loan with an effective annual interest rate of 0.01%.
What does that mean in practice? Homeowners who, when purchasing a heat pump, take advantage of state subsidies of up to 70% can finance the remaining 30% with the interest-free supplementary loan.
The external staircase to the in-law apartment requires tiling. In addition, the garage roof has a small leak and needs to be sealed.
