The Forsthaus Metzelthin was purchased by us in 2005 and renovated and restored until 2006. In the main house, all floors, the windows, some of the doors, and all the utilities (electricity, gas, water) were replaced, and the apartments were remodeled according to our ideas.

The house has two floors, with the inhabited section covering about 200 square meters. On the ground floor there is a large living room (approximately 45 m²), a large kitchen-dining area (approximately 30 m²), a utility room with a toilet and guest shower, as well as a pantry.

On the first floor there is a small storage room, a bathroom with a shower, bathtub, two washbasins, and a toilet, a guest room, two smaller rooms, and a large bedroom. In this area, the sloping ceiling starts at about 1.30 m.

In the guest section there are three fully furnished holiday apartments.

The large apartment on the ground floor is about 90 m² and comprises a spacious living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower, washbasin, and toilet. This apartment has direct access to the guest garden (approximately 2,000 m²).

On the upper floor there are two holiday apartments, each about 45 m²: each features a large combined living and sleeping area with an integrated single kitchen, a small bathroom with a shower, washbasin, and toilet. In these apartments, the sloping ceiling reaches up to about 1.30 m on the first floor. The small holiday apartments are accessible via an external staircase, with the entrance to the apartments being via a small balcony.

Due to the sloping ceiling, a total area of 254 m² was taken into account for the pricing.

Additionally, there is an annex on the property that houses garages and the dog school. The building for the dog school was also renovated and restored. The dog school features, on the basement level, a large storage/meeting room and two toilets, and on the first floor, an office, a large seminar room (approximately 70 m²) and a toilet. The dog enclosure is fenced, and access is provided from behind the neighbors’ properties.

High-speed internet (fiber optic) is available but has not yet been activated.

The roofs are in need of renovation.

On the property, there are mature trees—for example, six old lime trees stand directly in front of the house around a paved area. A vegetable garden was established a few years ago and is actively cultivated. The Forsthaus is a registered habitat for common pipistrelle bats.

We rent out holiday apartments and pitches for motorhomes to people with dogs. The motorhome pitch can be separated by a gate, and the guest section is demarcated from the private area by a tall hedge, a fence, and a gate.

Metzelthin is a small village that belongs to Templin, within the Klosterwalde district. The Forsthaus Metzelthin is located on a scarcely trafficked road toward Gandenitz, right next to the forest.

Templin is about 15 kilometers away. Here you will find the town hall, doctors, a hospital, shopping facilities, the MultiCultural Centre, as well as schools, daycares, restaurants, and cafés. The surrounding area offers many opportunities for leisure, culture, and sports.

From Templin, you can reach Berlin (Ostkreuz) by train in about 1.5 hours, or Oranienburg in about 50 minutes. From Oranienburg, various regional trains as well as the S1 line to Berlin are available. By car, Berlin can be reached in about 1.5 hours.

Gas heating (2006) is installed, and the tank for LPG is located underground on the premises.
