In the town, there are shops and supermarkets, specialist doctor’s practices from various fields, as well as three kindergartens, a primary school, and since August 2010, the combined “Realschule plus Mendig” (formed from the former Haupt- and Realschule).
The town itself has 8,496 inhabitants, and together with the collective municipality and neighboring municipalities from other administrative areas, there is a potential customer base of 19,000 people.
The administrations of the town and the collective municipality are located in the immediate vicinity and can be reached on foot within 10 minutes. Additional retail spaces are available in the surrounding area. The town is currently in the process of improving its infrastructure through appropriate development measures.
