The property management generally takes care of the building; it isn’t the most beautiful, but it isn’t run down either. All the neighbors are friendly.

The apartment is compact, but very nicely renovated. The windows are brand new, and the floor is new parquet. The apartment features a kitchen, a bathroom (not shown on the plan), an entrance hall, and a combined bedroom/living room. There’s an additional separate WC that doubles as a storage room, two loft beds, a wood stove, a foldable sauna, among other things.

The apartment is very sunny, especially in the mornings. Opposite, there is the courtyard of the barracks, which allows the morning sun to shine into the apartment. Only from mid-November to mid-January is there no morning sun.

Heating is provided by both electricity and wood, which works well and has always been inexpensive.

It’s located directly by bus line 9. On the ground floor, there’s a pizzeria with good pizza. Right behind the building is the Marif Institute, a Turkish elite private school. Across the street is the Schmelz.

Overall, it’s well-located, though not in the cultural epicenter.
