The landmark of the town is the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. Aegidien; its church tower is already visible from the motorway. The lower part of the tower was built as early as 1499 and has been preserved to this day. The largest green space near the town center is Friedenspark, which was created around 1890/1891 on the site of a former cemetery.

Approximately 4 kilometers from the town center is the municipality of Dittersbach, which, together with its district of Neudörfchen, forms the Frankenberg district of Dittersbach. The Lützelbach flows through the town, joining the Zschopau south of Sachsenburg. To the north of Dittersbach run Federal Road 169 and the Federal Motorway 4, both reachable within a few minutes by car, thus providing excellent transport links to the surrounding cities.
