Here awaits something special …
History meets Modernity:
The building ensemble dates back to 1793 and was considered a jewel of Bavarian Baroque. The construction year of this monument is carved into the well-preserved entrance door. The north side extension was built around 1976. The former palace inn, along with the two adjacent residential and utility buildings, is located directly opposite Weyhern Castle.
In 2006, the 400-year history of the palace inn came to an end. The building was in danger of falling into disrepair.
In 2012, a private buyer was found who converted the property into a residential building and, with the utmost personal and technical effort as well as the requisite creativity, transformed it into a dreamlike residence in strict accordance with monument protection regulations.
The Building:
It is a solid masonry construction with a timber roof structure built in traditional carpenter style and a “beaver tail” roof covering. The partially basements building stands on a completely insulated plinth that runs along its perimeter and has two full floors as well as a double-story roof structure.
Features / Usage:
The property comprises three brick buildings as well as several wooden annexes.
The main building alone measures approximately 23 m x 13.5 m. The historically restored entrance door has been preserved, although it is no longer used as the main entrance. Beyond it, a long hallway opens up with access to the rooms and bathrooms. The historical doors have been tastefully restored, as has the interior wooden staircase leading to the upper floor. The former guest lounge was converted into a living area with a brick-built stove fireplace; the tap room, kitchen, and storage rooms were transformed into a dining area, utility room, and an open, modern fitted kitchen with a cooking island and all electrical appliances. The former guest toilets have been converted into spacious, attractive bathrooms. The covered main entrance is now on the east side, complete with a hall and cloakroom.
The upper floor was designed as an entirely independent living unit, accessible both via the interior staircase and from the outside via a wooden staircase with a separate entrance. Here too, high-quality tasteful design and fittings can be found. The “huge” living area with its open kitchen, as well as 5-6 rooms, a utility room, and 2 bathrooms, provide plenty of space for a large family.
The vast roof structure is not finished but offers plenty of usable space. It was completely restored and re-covered as part of the renovation.
The former beer garden on the west side has been converted into a wonderful multi-area stone terrace. Most of the former skittle alley has been preserved and now serves as a charming garden house and storage for equipment.
The large ancillary building, the carriage house, offers generously sized versatile usable and storage spaces, garages, a workshop, and the former horse stable, with a continuous attic in the gable. This is an ideal setup, for example, for craft businesses that require large indoor storage areas and/or for (large) animal husbandry.
A second, small outbuilding, the former inn keeper’s residential building, has been lovingly renovated and designed to be used as a small independent residential unit, with a living area, an internal wooden staircase leading into the two-part gable for bedrooms and children’s rooms, a small bathroom, and a kitchen.
All of this is surrounded by an approximately 7,000 m² “park”. This allows for animal/horse keeping on a private paddock as well as plenty of parking spaces.
The main building is fenced in (“escape-proof” – perfect, for example, for keeping dogs); the other areas are enclosed/fenced with pasture fences.
Due to a change in the owners’ orientation, the property is being sold completely and, according to agreement, move-in ready to a new enthusiast. Optionally, it can be sold partially furnished, including kitchens.
Weyhern / Egenhofen – a green idyll about 30 km before the western gates of Munich
This jewel of Bavarian history and today uniquely renovated and modernized property can be reached from Munich’s western outskirts in only about 30 minutes by car via the A8 – Odelzhausen exit.
Directly opposite the completely renovated and restored Weyhern Castle is this property, the former historic palace inn dating from 1793. Idyllically located along the Glonn River, the traditional inn with its beer garden was, until about 15 years ago, a popular destination known well beyond the district boundaries and offered a distinctive gastronomic experience.
By car, it is only about 7 minutes to the A8 motorway in Odelzhausen, where most everyday facilities can be found, as well as in the surrounding communities of Egenhofen, Mammendorf, Maisach or in Fürstenfeldbruck.
It is also very convenient to reach the S-Bahn in Maisach by bus 871 (right in front of the door).
The leisure opportunities leave little to be desired! In addition to the surrounding fields and forests with endless cycling, equestrian, and hiking opportunities, two golf courses and numerous sports clubs with modern sports facilities offer a variety of recreational activities. The leisure offerings are rounded off by many attractive venues of different styles, cozy beer gardens, and numerous cultural events in the communities and the cultural center around Fürstenfeldbruck Castle.
It is easy to see that this property, in its location, character, and features, is unique and is looking for a new owner who will appreciate its qualities.
