The apartment is subject to rental price and occupancy restrictions. A valid housing entitlement certificate (WBS 80) from the state capital Potsdam is required for rental. Occupancy is determined by the number of persons permanently living in the household, and the number of rooms in the apartment must not be exceeded by the number of persons. For example, a three-person household may rent a three-room apartment, but not a four-room apartment. The permitted apartment size for you is indicated on your housing entitlement certificate.

You can apply for the housing entitlement certificate at the Landeshauptstadt Potsdam, Housing Entitlement Certificate Working Group, Charlottenstraße 42. Application forms and income declarations are available on the city’s service portal at vv.potsdam.de. The certificate is generally valid for one year. Please apply early; the city indicates a processing time of several weeks. When attending a viewing, please present it or provide proof that it is being applied for.
