Dohna is the second oldest town in the Free State of Saxony. It is situated in the district of Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge and is the seat of the Dohna-Müglitztal municipal association. The town of Dohna lies about 15 km southeast of Dresden and south of Heidenau at the entrance to the Müglitztal, serving as a gateway to the Eastern Ore Mountains.
