Unusual housing or what rarities can you find in real estate?
Maybe you've come across them while searching for your dream property, maybe you browse them for your own entertainment - real estate bizarros. What can you come across on real estate portals? Our unconventional of non-traditional real estate will give you an idea.

Living Like Royalty
Even in a panel apartment block, you can live like royalty. You don’t need tens of millions in your bank account. All it takes is some gold paint, heavy curtains, and floral patterns, and you’ll have a Baroque-style living room before you can count to ten. To each their own. However, owners of such rooms should be prepared that it might take a while to find someone with a similar taste.

Timeless/Outdated Retro
Those browsing real estate listings will also find something to please retro lovers. There are still plenty of apartments dominated by plywood, patterned paint rollers, and laminate panels.
If you're thinking of buying such a property, carefully inspect the furnishings. Some pieces are worth keeping and giving a second life. For example, Halabala-style spider-leg armchairs or tables are valued in the thousands and remain in demand as design pieces.

Business Opportunities
Another interesting real estate category is commercial spaces. Here you’ll find kiosks, studios, wine cellars, and even factories. Want to launch a business with a power plant or become a spa hotelier? If you have 30 million CZK to spare, no problem. And if you're more into adventure in the middle of meadows or forests, a military-style bunker (known as “řopĂk”) can be yours for as little as 50,000 CZK.
That you can run a business even in the middle of nature is proven by the now-popular trend of glamping. And you don’t even have to build a treehouse or a tiny cottage—just browse real estate listings for a wooden caravan or a yurt. Besides potential rental income, you’ll also get a unique weekend retreat for yourself.

Life on the Water
Want to live by the water? No problem. Real estate listings even include houseboats and boats. The selection is limited—usually just a few listings—but for about 2 million CZK, you can live on the Vltava River in Prague. Granted, the space is typically around 30 square meters, but for a minimalist couple or someone looking for a unique weekend getaway, it's an interesting option.

Seeking Property. Note: Peaceful Rest Required
Looking for a place where you’ll have true silence, soft lighting, and the sound of rustling trees? Then you should check the “Other” section on real estate websites. That’s usually where you’ll find the irresistible listing: a burial plot. Some go for just a few thousand, though most cost around 50,000 CZK, depending on the location and size. After all, it’s important to think about where we’ll reside after we’re gone.
