Im Bad 18, , Schleswig-HolsteinParkingThe building was constructed in 1968 as the “Luv und Lee” residential and commercial property, in an absolutely prime location in the immediate vicinity of the Dünen-Therme spa and beach access, right in the heart of the Bad district of Sankt Peter-Ording. Im Bad street is rightly regarded as Ording’s main shopping area.
The solidly built property is in a good state of repair and maintenance, having been continuously modernised and maintained. The retail unit is located at ground level and features a shop-window frontage approximately 5 metres wide. The area in front of the shop is used as additional sales space. The interior can be configured flexibly. In addition to the sales area, there is a kitchenette with a staff room, a toilet and a small storage room. The premises have a DSL connection, with fibre-optic broadband planned.
Thanks to its excellent location, virtually all tourists heading to the beach have to pass the shop. The immediate neighbours include well-known clothing brands.
The premises can be handed over at short notice by arrangement.
In 2025, Sankt Peter-Ording recorded approximately 2.7 million overnight stays. In addition, around 500,000 day visitors come to the town every year.
This arguably makes Sankt Peter-Ording the second most popular tourist destination in northern Germany after Sylt.
Sankt Peter-Ording is a municipality in the district of Nordfriesland in Schleswig-Holstein. It is the only German seaside resort to have its own sulphur spring and is therefore designated a “North Sea health and sulphur spa.” In terms of overnight stays, Sankt Peter-Ording is Schleswig-Holstein’s leading mainland seaside resort.
The municipality of Sankt Peter-Ording consists of four districts: Böhl, Bad, Dorf (Süd) and Ording. Sankt Peter-Ording is characterised by its extensive beach, which stretches for up to twelve kilometres. As is typical of coastal regions, Sankt Peter-Ording has a maritime climate with mild winters and cool summers.
Sankt Peter-Ording comprises several formerly separate districts. The village of St. Peter was first mentioned in an official document dating from 1373. The name of St. Peter’s Church was later adopted as the name of the village. There is evidence that Frisians and Vikings had already settled in this area.
The first paying overnight guests were recorded in Ording in 1872. The year 1877 is regarded as the founding date of the present-day seaside resort. The first of the beach’s characteristic stilt houses was built in 1911 and was called the “Giftbude,” from the Low German phrase *wat gift*, meaning “there is something available there.”
Transport links were also gradually improved. The railway connection to Husum followed in 1932. Better road access was made possible in 1973 by the construction of the Eider Barrage.
St. Peter-Ording has served as a filming location for several film and television productions. The resort has a modern leisure and water park with an extensive sauna complex—the Dünen-Therme. It is supplied with North Sea water and offers more than 1,000 m² of water facilities. Around 1,400 traditional hooded beach chairs are available across the five designated bathing areas.
The Westküstenpark wildlife park features a wide variety of native and exotic animals, including a seal enclosure. Together with Sylt, Sankt Peter-Ording is regarded as one of Germany’s best destinations for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The beach is also used for land sailing and kite buggying.
The municipality has the following schools: a primary school and a grammar school incorporating a comprehensive-school section. Some of the grammar school pupils live at the Nordsee boarding school.
Sankt Peter-Ording is directly connected to Germany’s national road network via the B202 federal highway. The A23 motorway can be accessed at the Heide-West junction. St. Peter-Ording is the terminus of the Husum–Bad St. Peter-Ording railway line. Trains run hourly in both directions from early morning until around midnight. There are two railway stations: Bad St. Peter Süd and Bad St. Peter-Ording.
The municipality also has a bus network connecting all districts, which visitors can use free of charge with a guest card. For cycling tourists, St. Peter-Ording is connected to the North Sea Coast Cycle Route. The town also has a small airfield.
