This charming little witch’s cottage is located right in the middle of Peterslahr at the church square. This square is a popular spot for hikers embarking on the Westerwaldsteig trail, and beyond the square lies the truly beautiful Peterslahr church, which is especially worth visiting for its church windows.

The overall ambience of the square blends very well with the village structure. The village also has a functioning community that organizes various festivities and similar events.

In addition to the Westerwaldsteig, a cycle path also runs through the village.

Moreover, Peterslahr is arguably Germany's most famous village, having become well known through the TV show STEEL BUDDIES that airs almost daily.

The house is also directly attached to the shop of Morlocks Motors.

The original construction year is unknown, but like the neighboring houses, it probably dates from the mid-18th century. In the 1990s, the building was completely renovated, remodeled, and expanded. The rear part was added on in solid masonry and developed for residential purposes. The oak timber frame was gutted and the infill completely renewed. Inside, an additional new building was created because essentially the interior of the house was rebuilt with pumice stones, meaning that all the walls are now straight. The biggest advantage is that despite the half-timbered construction, the interior boasts NORMAL ceiling heights. In the original state, available until the 1990s, the living room ceiling height was partly only 1.62 m!

Only on the upper floor does a part of the original timber framing show.

In 1996, the entire roof structure and roofing were also renewed, using “beaver tails” that complement the style of such a house. The insulation was also installed and the structure was panelled on the inside.

On the inside, the house has the character of a new build while the charming façade has been retained on the outside.

The floors were removed and massive concrete slabs were poured, then topped with cement screed. This serves as a good foundation for all the flooring to be laid, although mostly tiles were used here.

The house received a gas connection with a gas heating system that was renewed in 2021. The heater is also responsible for providing hot water. All installations were completely renewed from scratch – the electrical system is up to current standards, as are the water pipes.

The bathroom is, of course, new as well, equipped with a bathtub and a shower. It features a glass dome that lets in ample light and aids ventilation.

Overall, the upper floor has three rooms and the bathroom, while on the ground floor there is a hallway area with a living room and a kitchen.

The windows are wooden and mostly designed as divided-light windows.

The property is really small, but it is accordingly low-maintenance. Although there isn’t a proper garden, just a small area in front of and behind the house, you also don’t have to spend every Saturday with a lawn mower.
