Here, people live with the same spirit but with different academic backgrounds and skills. At the moment, we are studying Medicine, Rhetoric, Business Administration, History, Law, and Sinology, and we come from all over Germany, France, and Belgium. This creates exciting connections and opportunities. You’d never have met people this quickly at the university.

We are "Corpsstudenten" and call ourselves "Tübinger Franken." More information on that topic will follow later.

In the Tübinger Frankenhaus, which was renovated three years ago, and in an apartment on Fritz-Bauer-Straße, student rooms have once again become available.

The rooms are furnished with a pull-out sofa bed, wardrobe, and desk. Additionally, there is space for your own furniture. Besides your room, you can make full use of the entire spacious house.

Highlights:

• The large terrace with a mega view over the Südstadt all the way to the Alb. And your own punt. (Punting with a punt is something you only do in Tübingen, Cambridge, and Oxford.)

• Fast internet and “old school” reading material such as Spiegel, Cicero, etc.

We, the Tübinger Franken, are students and alumni who support each other, network, and – last but not least – often become lifelong friends. XING, LinkedIn, and other platforms are helpful, but we also exist in “real life.”

Partying is not forgotten, yet coming together to create things, pursuing joint activities, exchanging ideas between different study programs, and organizing events and parties are all an integral part of a real student life alongside hard studying.

Especially during busy phases, it’s extremely practical to have a quiet study room equipped with screens and a printer.

And what exactly does “Corpsstudent” mean?

The Corps are the oldest existing student fraternities in Central Europe. They have never been politically active, but have always been democratically organized. The youngest members have always set the tone.

Where someone comes from is as irrelevant to us as their skin color, their religion, or even their favorite Bundesliga team. On the contrary – we find diversity important and enriching. At the moment, students from Germany, Belgium, and France are active in our group.

Our alumni not only live in Germany but are spread across the globe. So why do we call ourselves “Franken”? That’s another story – not secret, but too long for this introduction.

The Tübinger Frankenhaus is located on the lower Österberg, essentially still in the city center. Therefore, it’s only a 7-minute walk to the town hall square, the new auditorium, the university library, the cafeteria, and the Neckar Island.

The nearest bus stop is 140 meters away. You can get groceries at the Nonnenhaus, which is a 5-minute walk away. It’s a 12-minute walk to the train station.
