The house is located as the second-to-last in a row of townhouses on a very quiet street because it is a dead end. The houses are not clustered but are spaced approximately 50 meters apart from each other. Those interested can grow some of their own food on the large property. At the moment, there are a few old fruit trees (various types of apples, one pear tree, and a very tasty, juicy peach, apricot, and plum tree, as well as walnut and hazelnut trees). Close by, ideal for a bike ride, are plenty of tree-lined avenues if one wants to gorge on cherries, pears, apples, and plums. In addition, the property features two willows, about ten berry bushes (if you include elderberry, there are at least twenty), stinging nettle, garlic, sorrel, ground elder, dandelion, plantain, mugwort, and much more.

The house is solid with a manageable need for renovations; nothing is urgent, although a roof window should be replaced before winter arrives. The cost for that ranged from 500 to 3000 euros, depending on the extent of the work carried out by a company. An extensive renovation that would additionally create more living space could cost between 3000 euros and 150,000 euros.

All the materials required for an ecological renovation (chalk, pigments, glue) are readily available. For those new to this but eager to learn, I am willing to spend a day demonstrating the process.

Since there are two chimneys, heating every room with a wood stove is not a problem. At the moment, a small stove with a small cooking and warming plate, a tiled stove, and an oven with a large cooking plate and a baking oven (formerly known as the “kitchen witch”) are installed and approved. Almost everything necessary is also available for a gas heating system. It was not used last winter and has been temporarily shut down because it was too expensive and unreliable in terms of supply security. In winter, the “kitchen witch” provides hot water (yes, even for a bathtub), or an electric instantaneous water heater is available year-round. If desired, the small electric sauna stove can be sold as well.

There are currently two bedrooms in the attic, although the smaller room (8 m²) is a through room. The larger room is about 12 m². Both have sloping ceilings on one side.

Outbuildings include a small earth cellar, a garage, and a barn for two pigs and at least 20 chickens. Adjacent is also a shed, the roof of which is leaking in a few spots.

Hackenow is a district of Alt Tucheband, historically an estate, and today—after the major battle of 1945—a settlement consisting exclusively of single-family homes.

The local public transport connections with buses to Seelow, Golzow, and Gorgast are quite good. All these places are less than 10 km away and easily accessible by bicycle. This is mentioned especially for those who appreciate not being completely dependent on a car. From these places, one can reach Berlin-Lichtenberg by regional train in a good hour or Küstrin (Poland) in about 15 minutes, with its wonderful forests and surrounding marshlands.

Kindergartens, schools, and plenty of shopping opportunities can be found in Manschnow, Golzow, and Seelow. The bathing spots on the old Oder River are in Gorgast and Golzow.

The house is sold with a fitted kitchen and some furniture. It will not be cleared out.
