The chamomile-yellow house is part of Bruno Taut’s renowned settlement and was completely gutted and renovated over 1½ years in close coordination with the Berlin Monument Protection Office.

The renovation was led by an architect—with great care and attention to detail that is evident in the house today.

All technical installations have been renewed: electrical wiring, heating (gas), water pipes, bathrooms, solid wood plank flooring, windows (new double-box windows modeled after the original), the new front door, façade, ceilings, and walls.

At the same time, the house’s original character was not only preserved but deliberately highlighted—through bleached wooden floors, exposed ceiling beams, a refurbished original staircase, and preserved original doors. In the bathrooms, terrazzo tiles and Bisazza mosaic were used. The house will be sold upon completion; we will not move in ourselves.

The garden is south-facing and quietly located. The Krumme Lanke is reachable on foot in about ten minutes.

In choosing the materials, quality and harmony were consistently prioritized. The original wooden floors and the new planks have been bleached and oiled, the original staircase refurbished, and the original doors preserved. In the attic, the ceiling beams have been exposed—a special detail that gives the house an unusual character.

The house is located in Dahlem, one of the quietest and greenest corners of Berlin. The street is a purely residential area—with little through traffic, plenty of trees, and a neighborhood that has maintained its character for decades. Forests and other lakes are within walking distance, as is the Krumme Lanke. For everyday convenience, shopping opportunities, schools, and daycare centers are nearby. The S-Bahn and U-Bahn are also accessible, connecting the area well with the rest of the city—without causing any disturbance or noticeability.
